repurposing some older illustrations and doodles for some newer illustrations for the arts bazaar on friday.. really hoping i feel better enough to go to it.. seeing as I am sick for the first time in two years, arghh
a quick pattern made out of a photo of a cupcake I made.
Now a background on my food blog, Pastel Macaron. Check it out if you haven’t already! :)
i wish it didnt upload this huge. just a blurry ipad photo of a silly painting i did in between other stuff. thesis advisor loathed it. i just like repainting old canvases. its my new thing :)
a totally silly super late night collage using images found from google and my own.
floating cakes on cloud cake stands. magritte must have been in my subconscious thoughts.
some work in progress. first time using oil paint on canvas. fast drying oil paints, mind you! :D
sketches for what I wanted to be contemporary art nouveau posters
Siiiiiigh. I’ve been reworking this image for so long, and then this happened. Its been reworked to death. Nowhere near done, of course, but I’m kind of digging the abstract spontaneity in this piece
Sigh. Reworking some other old drawings. Still not feeling it. Maybe some things are just better left alone?
I just want to reach a point where I like everything I make.
She’s in outerspace. And its rad.
I’m always really critical of my work, so sometimes it gets to a point where I just can’t stand looking at it. Sometimes scanning in illustrations and reworking them can leave them looking entirely different, especially colourwise. I was cleaning my room and came across a few original images, and realized that the scanned version really doesn’t do it justice. Sometimes its nice to rework old drawings instead of starting up something new, I find it very relaxing. Here’s a quick rescanning of an older illustration I made back in December. I think I like this one better!
